FAQ's
How durable is the finish?

We use the highest grade PPG automotive quality products for our flat and high gloss finishes.  Although we do not recommend purposely taking a completed gun through a thorn brier thicket - it's a tough finish that will hold up to even the toughest duck hunter, in and out of boats and in the cold nasty rain that mother nature has to offer.  It will offer you higher protection for your gun (or other dipped items) than a factory finish can provide.

How do I care for the dipped areas of my gun?

A damp rag is all you need!!!  No more worries about oils transferring from your hands to the barrel or other metal surfaces.  All metal surfaces that are dipped are protected with a sealer prior to being base coated and dipped to prevent rust.  Once the finish has been applied, the exterior areas of your gun are protected from the elements.  You will still need to care for the inside areas of your gun.

What type of chemicals should I avoid?

If you would not use it on the finish of your vehicle - do not use it on your gun (or other dipped items).  If harsh chemicals do come in contact with the finished dipped areas - immediately wipe it down with a damp cloth.  Take care when using Gun Scrubber to clean the inside of your gun - wipe off any excess that has gotten on any dipped areas.  Also avoid products with DEET.

What is your turn around time?

Turn around time will vary during the year.  Leading up to the hunting seasons, we will be busier than during the off season which is the spring and summer months.  Off season turn around time can be as quick as 2 weeks.  During busier months turn around time can be 3-5 weeks.  Our goal is to do the job as if we are dipping our own items - we take pride in every item that walks in and out the door.  We will do the job quickly but with quality at every step of the process.  We want bragging rights over your item just as much as you do!

How do I ship my gun?

We are an authorized FFL!!!!  All guns must be shipped in accourdance with the shipping carrier you choose.  Ensure all parts are carefully packaged to prevent damage.  It is highly recommended that you ship your gun/parts in a gun case.  (Plastic gun case, inside of the cardboard shipping box).  If you are having your entire gun dipped - please COMPLETELY dissassemble your gun.  If you do not feel comfortable taking your gun apart - we will charge $50 for dissassembly, cleaning and reassembly.

I have an animal skull I want dipped.

All animal skulls should be cleaned (by dermicid beetles or professionally boiled) and degreased.  Without an absolute clean skull we not be able to dip your skull.  We want you to be happy with the look of your skull for years to come and a improperly cleaned and degreased skull does not meet our strict quality control measures.  If you have a raw skull and want it cleaned and dipped, please email us. (Raw skulls can be shipped to us and cleaning charge will depend on size of skull)   When shipping your skull, use extra padding around the nasal bone areas.  A good tip for shipping deer (bucks) zip tie the antlers to the side of the box to prevent it from being knocked around during shipping.
